This is intended as a record of all Quintin's races at Henley Royal Regatta, both in the regatta proper and in qualifying races. The history covers the period from the first accepted entry in 1920 to the present day. Also included are any Quintin composite crews and any Townmead crews that contained Quintin members. (From 1970 to 1981 Townmead RC was a flag of convenience used by clubs in our local division. For many years up to 1981 clubs were not allowed to enter more than one crew in any HRR event for eights or fours. Latterly some clubs circumvented this ban by forming subsidiary clubs. Crews entering HRR as Townmead were either the second crews of Quintin, Thames Tradesmen or Mortlake Anglian or were composite crews from these clubs.)
The main source is the published records of the regatta. Any quotes from them are denoted by "HRR". HRR published records have been supplemented by reports from The Times. Quotes have also been taken from other sources where available.
The published sources do not name the crew members of non-qualifying crews. HRR itself does not keep these names for more than a few years, and QBC's internal records provide no help. Consequently we are missing the competitors' names for almost all non-qualifying crews before 2001. Because of this, in four instances we do not even know whether or not certain Townmead crews included any Quintin members. For the time being, these four crews have been included in this record.
There are bound to be errors. If you spot any errors, or if you can supply any missing information (especially names for non-qualifying crews) or if you can supply any other reports of races, please email Malcolm Cook at secretary@quintinboatclub.org. Any information will be used to improve the record and will be much appreciated.
Navigation
We hope that the navigation is fairly self-explanatory.
gives a timeline for all entries from 1920 onwards, and the allows you to view an indivdual's involvement at a glance (non-Quintin members in Townmead and composite crews are not included). Each entry to the regatta is given its own page and you can navigate from each page to the previous or next event in the history using the and at the top of the page. You can also follow an individual's record by following the grey and arrows. Where photographs are available, you can navigate to the Photogallery and then return from there to the current page via a Henley Records hyperlink in the text for the photograph.
If you discover any faults in the navigation, please email the details to web@quintinboatclub.org.

Points of detail
In the 1920s the HRR records seem to use "easily" to mean that the winning crew did not have to push itself at the finish. So in some instances the official verdict was "easily", even though the winning margin was two lengths or even less.
Asterisks to denote that the losing crew was leading at the Barrier or Fawley were introduced in the HRR records only in 1954. However, before that date it is usually possible to deduce from the reports if the loser was leading at the intermediate points. In such pre-1954 races we have used the asterisk.
Times to the Barrier were not recorded before 1929.
