Thames Ditton Regatta 1976 had an all-Quintin final in Elite VIIIs. This is the "A" crew winning its heat. Crew: Hugh Williams (bow), Russ Thatcher, Joe Pitt, Roger Greenfield, Dave Vickers, Mike Dudley, Chris Wooderson, Roger Hine (stroke), Phil Read (cox). The "B" crew, stroked by John Peters, and containing some of the stars of the 1975 crew, disposed of Leander in their heat. In the final, the "B" crew stole an early lead and hung on to win by ¾ length. The Sunday Telegraph the next day tipped Quintin for the Thames Cup at Henley, but it was not to be (again!).
