Roger Hine and Graham Lloyd, winners of the Marlow Pairs 1980, with the trophy. In the first round they beat Hugh Laurie and James Palmer of Eton Vikings (Silver Goblets finalists at Henley two weeks later - they couldn't steer at Marlow). In the final Quintin led Andy Peach and Eric Sims of Maidenhead R.C. by a ½ length over the whole course and held on round the outside of the last bend to win by ¼ length in 5 min. 18 sec. for the 1600m course.
